Interiors

This country house has a distinct Tuscan feel to it. Its antique furniture, painting-adorned walls and high vaulted ceilings give the house a traditional, yet elegant quality.

The property spreads over two levels. Each floor has a kitchen, living room and three ensuite bedrooms. This makes it an ideal property for two-part groups wanting to maintain some independency.

On the ground floor there is a spacious lounge, with plush leather sofas and a large marble fireplace. This room is elegantly furnished with antique ornaments. On the same floor, guests will find a fully-equipped kitchen, with a wooden dining table in its centre. The large arched window-door fills this room with natural light: a pleasant space to leisurely prepare a traditional Tuscan dish. A dining room is located just off the kitchen.

Three double ensuite bedrooms are located on the ground floor. The bedrooms have been furnished in a minimalist style. Nude-terracotta tones create a calming atmosphere. The bathrooms are more bold and colourful in their design. Two are equipped with showers, and the third with a whirlpool bath tub.

Guests will find another spacious living room on the first floor, which has been furnished with ornate rugs, sofas and marble fireplace. This room leads on to another fully-equipped kitchen and a bright dining room. A roofed terrace can be accessed both from this room and the living room. With its dining table and picturesque views out on to the rolling Tuscan landscape, this is the perfect space for a relaxed, early-evening aperitivo.

Another three ensuite bedrooms are located on the villa’s first floor, all double. One of the bedrooms enjoys an ensuite bathroom with a whirlpool bath tub.

A highlight of the Montalcino Country Villa is its wellness centre, located in a separate building opposite the main villa. Here, guests can make use of a well-equipped gym space and a Turkish steam bath. The ceiling-high french windows really light up this room, giving it a fresh and airy feel.

Exteriors

A high point of the Montalcino Country Villa is undoubtedly its picturesque outdoor area, in total measuring one and a half hectares. Guests firstly enter the property via a winding lane, lined by the majestic Tuscan cypress tree: a beautiful indicator of one’s location in the heart of the picturesque Val D’Orcia countryside.

Between the main villa and the wellness building, there is a spacious patio. This is furnished with a padded seating area, a tiled dining table and a barbecue: the perfect space to enjoy a meal on a barmy summer’s evening.

The real highlight, though, is the garden at the rear of the villa. A large outdoor swimming pool, with a whirlpool spa corner, nestles in a green lawn. Pieces of contemporary sculpture, dotted around the garden, makes the space unique; manmade beauty harmonises with natural beauty, which spreads out as far as the eye can see. Guests can enjoy this space in ultimate relaxation, on colourful sun loungers lining the pool or padded sofas in the shade of a gazebo.

Location

The villa is located in the comune of Montalcino, nestled within the Val D’Orcia region. This particularly picturesque part of Tuscany is characterised by a rolling landscape of sunflower fields and vineyards, laced with winding cypress-lined lanes.

The medieval hill town of Montalcino is a short drive away from the villa. Guests can climb its imposing 14th Century fortress, which provides panoramic views out over the town and surrounding valleys. A pleasant afternoon can be spent walking amongst Montalcino’s cobblestone streets, where you can also pick up a bottle of the region’s famous Brunello red wine. The nearby Benedictine Sant’Antimo Abbey, whose present structure dates as far back as to 12th Century, is also definitely worth a trip for history-buffs.

The closest town to the Montalcino Country Villa is Torrenieri, located two kilometres away. The famous Brunello wine cellars are also just a few minutes away by car.
